Uplift 2025 | Reflections from a Transformative Experience

I’ve just returned from BetterUp’s Uplift 2025 conference in New York, still buzzing with insight, depth, and a sense of possibility.

For two powerful days, the world’s boldest thinkers explored what’s next in leadership, human potential, and AI—reminding us that in a rapidly changing world, what defines the future is how we stay human.

Here’s a glimpse into what stayed with me:

Adam Grant, Shonda Rhimes & Alexi Robichaux challenged us to lead by questioning what truly matters—and to say yes to reinvention, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Brené Brown held a powerful workshop on values, then joined Trevor Noah for a brilliant, moving conversation on leadership, vulnerability, humor, and what makes a truly bad idea actually pretty useful in the creative process.

Charles Duhigg illuminated how the most impactful leaders are “supercommunicators”—able to read context, match conversation styles, and build real trust through deeper questions.

Jan-Emmanuel De Neve shared new research linking workforce well-being to bottom-line outcomes, and leaders from Unilever offered real-world strategies for making mental health a strategic advantage.

Dr. Becky Kennedy reminded us that empathy, rupture, and repair—skills we often practice first at home—are at the heart of impactful leadership.

Melvin Smith reframed difficult conversations through emotional intelligence and genuine curiosity, while the Google School for Leaders shared how they’re scaling meaningful leadership development inside one of the world’s most ambitious organizations.

We also explored the space where creativity meets technology:

  • IN-Q led us through poetic reflection and creative storytelling to reignite a sense of purpose.
  • freestyle+, an award-winning improv group, demonstrated how play can supercharge AI collaboration and connection.
  • Kate Niederhoffer offered a timely warning: without intention, AI might collapse creativity instead of expanding it.

And throughout: a powerful, urgent invitation to choose growth, courage, and deeper connection—personally and professionally.

I’m returning with fresh clarity, and a heart full of ideas already enriching my work with clients.

If a path of growth rooted in psychology, neuroscience, curiosity, and self-connection speaks to you—let’s talk.
